A device for transporting wound bobbins and for removing empty ones in a textile machine comprises a transporting means (7) movable alog an overhead guide (8) and further guides (21) on the transporting means which extend at right angles to the overhead guide (8) and allow the raising and lowering movements of a handling member (23) which engages a creel (5). The motions along the guides (8, 21) may be effected by respective motors (9, 33).
