METHOD AND TOOL FOR PISTON RINGS THERMAL FIXATION

FIELD: thermal treatment, method and tool are used for thermal fixation of pistons rings with non-parallel butt surfaces. SUBSTANCE: piston rings to be subjected to thermal treatment to obtain required form are set in pairs on two spreading inserts, that are defining size of lock after thermal treatment, are assembled in pack with contacting of rings in each pair along inclined butt surfaces with diametrically opposite location of locks and shifting of lock section outside by value of rings radial thickness. So assembled pack of rings using bolt and nut and mounted on it movable and fixed plates provided with grooves for spreading inserts are bolted together along outer butts of extreme rings and subjected to thermal treatment.
