PURPOSE:To attain updating a polishing material without suspending polishing by providing an intermittent rotational force transmitting mechanism for giving intermittent rotation in a direction of rewinding a web, in a web rewinding shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a hollow rotary shaft 2 is rotated by driving a motor 1, a rotary frame 3, integrally rotated, holds a polished sample polished by pressing a polished surface to a web W on the rotary frame 3. When a blinding is generated in the web W to lose a polishing function, when repeated vertically moving a shaft 8 one or several times, a web rewinding shaft 6 is intermittently rotated through an intermittent rotational force transmitting mechanism 10, to simultaneously perform delivering the web W from a web roll 4 and rewinding the web W by the web rewinding shaft 6, and since an unused part of the web W is delivered in a tense condition onto the rotary frame 3, polishing can be continued without stopping rotating the motor 1. |
