FIELD: small-size accelerators. SUBSTANCE: device has several stages each of which has capacitors and discharge gap. Capacitors in each stage are joined in packet. Discharge gap axis is parallel to axis of capacitor packet. Axes of all packets of capacitors are located in one plane; axes of all discharge gaps are located in another plane which is parallel to plane of packet axes. Distance between said planes is as minimal as possible. This is achieved by relative position of elements of generator so that distances between axis of arbitrary packet to axes of adjacent discharge gaps which are connected to them are equal. This results in possibility to decreased size of high-voltage unit of accelerator. This leads to decreased weight of liquid dielectric which fills device by factor of 1.5.
