A covering material of decorative, parallel rectilinear, cutouts is made by: (a) applying to a flat rigid support (4) a flexible, double sided adhesive sheet (6); (b) making a succession of rectilinear parallel cuts (20,30) in the support (4) through only part of its thickness to form a series of fracture lines; and (c) fracturing the support (9) along the cuts (20,30) to obtain a successive of parallel boards (32) joined together by the adhesive sheet (6). Also claimed is the prodn. installation of a device for applying the adhesive to the support; a device for forming the fracture lines and a device for causing the fracturing. |
