There is, around the edge of the cover, an open elastic metal sealing ring exerting a spring force which increases with the diameter of the sealing ring. In its position of rest the sealing ring is clamped between the end region of a part of the rim of the container and the end region of an annular angled section on the edge of the cover. The sealing mechanism comprises means for expanding the diameter of the sealing ring against said spring force. |
