PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of an image by arranging R-/G-/B-picture elements in a delta arrangement, selecting two common electrodes simultaneously, thereby doubling the duty to improve the contrast, visual angle and mixing of colors. CONSTITUTION:A common data Dx is outputted from a synchronizing control circuit 2 for a two-back plate period, and read in a common-side shift register 9 with a common shift pulse, the inverse of phinx outputted at every one-back plate period. Signals x1,x2, ...having a two-back plate length of duration are outputted sequentially, an analog multiplexer 10 supplies a liquid crystal driving signal to a color liquid crystal dispaly panel 12, and the common electrodes of the display panel 12 are selected sequentially in the unit of two pieces as X1 and X2 first, X2 and X3 next, and so forth. R-/G-/B-color signals go through a segment-side shift register 5 and are latched by a latch circuit 6, and video data D1 D3, D1' D3' are converted to tonal signals by a tonal signal generating circuit 7, while an analog multiplexer 8 drives the segment electrodes of the display panel 12. |
