PURPOSE:To obtain superior resolution and superior image reproduction performance by incorporating a specified polyvinyl alcohol obtained by saponifying a polyvinyl ester type resin prepared by using a polymerization catalyst having a half life of <=200min at 60 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:The polymerization system comprises a polymerizable vinyl compound and a photopolymerization initiator, and the polyvinyl alcohol type resin having an average polymerization degree of <=1,000 obtained by saponifying the polyvinyl ester type resin prepared by using the polymerization catalyst having a half life of <=200min at 60 deg.C. These polyvinyl alcohol type resins include not only the ones obtained by saponifying the homopolymer of vinyl ester but also the formal and the acetal and the like of them, and if the polyvinyl alcohol having an average polymerization degree of <=1,000 is used, operability of dissolution and the like is deteriorated, thus permitting exposure time to be shortened, and resolution and image reproduction performance to be enhanced. |
