<p>PURPOSE: To recover an aromatic dicarboxylic acid free from foreign material from waste polyester in high productivity. CONSTITUTION: A resin composition consisting of (a) PET as the main component, (b) PVC as a subsidiary component and (c) PE, etc., as admixed components is hydrolyzed at >=200 deg.C to regenerate terephthalic acid(PTA) from the PET. The regenerated crude PTA is dissolved in hot water at >=200 deg.C, PE, etc., are removed from the solution by extracting with an aromatic hydrocarbon and/or an aliphatic hydrocarbon and water-insoluble and infusible decomposed PVC, etc., are separated to recover TPA free from foreign material.</p> |
