PURPOSE: To obtain the subject web having small spring back force, capable of carrying out low pressure molding, not generating void in carbonization and suitable for production of a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material. CONSTITUTION: This web contains (A) a carbon fiber (having preferably 5-70mm fiber length), (B) pulp and (C) a powdery thermosetting phenolic resin (preferably having high residual carbon ratio) and aggregate of the component C is enclosed with the component B. The web is obtained by retaining a dispersion obtained by dispersing the components B and C into a liquid containing a surfactant (preferably polyethylene glycol/polypropylene glycol copolymer) for certain time, aggregating the component C in a form enclosed with the component B, dispersing the component A into a liquid, mixing an aggregate dispersion of the resultant components B/C with a dispersion of the component A and eliminating the liquid of the mixed dispersion by a web-making method. |
