PURPOSE: To realize the stable vehicle speed control by limiting the increase in the vehicle speed command value so that the difference from the actual vehicle speed does not exceed the prescribed value to prevent the generation of the under-shoot when the actual vehicle speed can not follow the increase of the vehicle speed command value associated by the acceleration command. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle speed command value updating means F increases the vehicle speed command value by the prescribed value while the acceleration command is given, while the deceleration command is given, the vehicle speed command value is reduced by the prescribed value, and the detected vehicle speed when the acceleration or deceleration command is completed is updated as the vehicle speed command value. A vehicle speed command value increase/decrease limiting means G permits the increase of the vehicle speed command value when the target engine torque is higher than the prescribed value while the acceleration command is given, and permits the vehicle speed command value when the target engine torque is lower than the prescribed value while the deceleration value is given only in the range that the difference from the actual vehicle speed does not exceed the prescribed value. The excellent acceleration/deceleration performance is obtained, and no under shoot is generated. |
