PURPOSE: To improve strain characteristics and enhance the discharging speed of ink. CONSTITUTION: This ink-jet printer head is equipped with a board 1 made of a non-piezoelectric body, a piezoelectric member 2, which is polarized in the direction of the plate thickness, in which a plurality of grooves 6 connecting with an ink suppling part parallel to one another and which is joined to the plane of the board 1, electrodes 8 formed in the inner surfaces of the grooves 6, a top plate 9, which is joined to the piezoelectric member 2 so as to cover the opening surfaces of the grooves 6, and an orifice plate, which has orifices 12 communicating with the longitudinal tips of the grooves 6 and joined to the edge face of the piezoelectric member 2. The thickness A of the bottom part 13, which is left in the piezoelectric member 2, of the groove 6 is set to be 80μm or less. Thus, the influence due to the interference effect of electric field at the roots of side walls 7 partitioning the grooves 6 is suppressed and the straining area of the side wall 7 is enlarged.
