PURPOSE: To ensure the wear-resistance of the surface with which a chain contacts by applying a creping process on the bent surface to which a running chain is contacted. CONSTITUTION: In a chain guide 10, a pair of side walls 14 for constituting a bottom part 12 and also a chain guide 10 are erected on the width direction both end parts of a long bottom part 12 and a long groove 16 is formed thereby and a timing chain is installed in this long groove 16. The timing chain installed in the long groove 16 can slide on the bottom part 12 of the chain guide 10. The bottom part 12 is bent toward the projection side of the side wall 14. A creping process is applied across the entire contact surface 12A with which the chain of the bottom part 12 is contacted. It is favorable on the point for keeping an oil sufficiently on the position with which the chain of the long groove 16 is contacted that the creping process makes a surface roughness whose RMAX is 30-40μm. Thereby, the wear resistance of the surface (bent surface) with which the chain is contacted, can be ensured sufficiently.
