The equipment incorporates a voltage sensor (POD) in the form of a resistive divider mounted on the roof of the locomotive (1) and connected to the traction current collector (3). A power cable (12) and a fibre-optic cable (FO) connect the voltage sensor to an interface (FOR) with the control circuit (6) and a synchroniser (6). Two analogue outputs from the measuring and processing equipment give the instantaneous voltage and its RMS value respectively. They are galvanically isolated from each other and the measurements are also digitally encoded for readout.
