PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in the application, reliability and security properties of an automatic recognition code by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a color forming compd. and a coupling compd. to show the developed color pattern of a color code and imparting near infrared absorbing capacity to a developed color pattern part. CONSTITUTION: A thermal recording material has a thermal color forming layer containing a color forming compd. and a coupling compd. and the thermal color forming layer shows the developed color pattern of a color code and a developed color pattern part has near infrared absorbing capacity. The color forming compd. imparting near infrared absorbing capacity is a compd. represented by formula (wherein R<1> -R<6> are respectively independently a 1-4C alkyl group). By this constitution, a thermal recording material easy to read an automatic recognition code regardless of contamination or wrinkles, the slight damage of the code itself or density irregularity and having high data integration properties and high security is obtained. |
