PURPOSE: To prevent the deposition of dried detergent granules on the wall of a conical section below a hot-air blowing port of a hot-air drying apparatus in drying a slurried detergent with a countercurrent hot air, improve the flowability of the granules, and enable mass production at a high productivity by introducing fine inorg. particles into the apparatus from the lower part of hot-air blowing port to bring the particles into contact with the granules. CONSTITUTION: The figure shows an example of a hot-air drying apparatus. A slurried detergent is fed with a sprayer 15 into a drying chamber 13, comes into contact with a swirling hot air, and thus dried. Most of the dried detergent granules fall down through a discharge port 19; however, part of the granules come into contact with and deposit on the wall 21 of the conical section below the hot-air blowing port 17. In order to prevent the deposition, fine inorg. particles are introduced into the chamber 13 to coat the surfaces of the granules. The inorg. particles may be introduced as shown by line C, through the method is not specifically limited. An aluminosilicate having a particle size of 0.1-15μm is an example of the particles, usually introduced in an amt. of 0.2-20wt.% of the dried detergent granules.
