PURPOSE: To provide a corner cutting throwaway chip capable of cutting stably for a long period without causing damage like a break in the lower end portion of the outer peripheral side when the chip is mounted to a corner cutting cutter for machining of metals. CONSTITUTION: In a corner cutting throwaway chip square in a plan and having four sides provided with cutting edges so that respective side wall contacting the respective cutting edge is formed with a flank, clearance anglesθin the respective relief surface 12 is increased respectively from one end side of cutting edge toward the other end side so that the flank 12 having the large clearance angleθand the flank 12 having the small clearance angleθare adjacent to each other in the intersecting portion of the cutting edges.
