PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricating fluid for cold rolling which is excellent in lubricity and cooling properties and can maintain high gloss on the surface of a metallic material. CONSTITUTION: This water-sol. lubricating fluid for metal cold rolling is prepd. by dissolving, in water, a dicarboxylic acid as a water-sol. thickener and a 4C or higher thio acid salt. an ethylene oxide adduct of a phosphoric ester, or a salt thereof as a water-sol. lubricity improver under the conditions that the fluid contains 3wt.% or higher thickener and 1wt.% or higher lubricity improver and that the sum of the thickener and the lubricity improver is lower than 70wt.%. The thickener is pref. at least one dicarboxylic acid selected from among oxalic acid. malonic acid, and succinic acid. |
