<p>Process for varnishing (glazing) plastic laminates which are cut up into very thin strips, formed into fibres and used in combination with other natural, organic or synthetic textile materials to form articles with increased strength, in which before the support film is cut up it is coated with a composn. comprising a 15-30% soln. in organic solvents of polyvinyl acetal, a 5-30% soln. of an isocyanate in organic solvents (as cross-linking agent), a cross-linking catalyst and opt. a dye or slipping agent. After application the film is dried at 115-140, pref. 120-130 degrees C, wound onto a bobbin and the cross-linking process allowed to proceed to completion.</p> |
