<p>Apparatus for softening hard waters for domestic or industrial uses. It comprises a steel vertical tank in the form of a cylinder with a flat base and a dome-shaped cover. The assembly is designed to contain an ion exchange resin together with filtering materials, such as pebbles, silica, etc. Sleeves for the water inlet and the softened water outlet are screwed or brazed on the recipient. The outlet consists of a closed steel tube which serves to support the filtering material of the grid; it has three inlets for the water and contains a filtering element made from a stainless steel sieve or from a porous tube. When worn or encrusted the latter can be withdrawn, after unscrewing the outlet tap, and replaced, without upsetting the operation of the plant.</p> |
