Packaging material which uses single-ply plywood, characterized in that it consists of at least one sheet 1 of plywood which includes so-called "counter-backstitch" thread (wire) seams (stitching) 3 to 6, arranged in an orientation which is approximately transverse, as regards the thread, to the direction 2 of the wood, and therefore the cohesion of said sheet is thereby considerably increased by following the transverse orientation, which finally makes it possible to use the sheet thus converted, then known as "counter-backstitched", as a product or semi-finished produce for packaging which is suitable for cutting, perforating and/or folding. <IMAGE>
