The connector includes a plastic moulded body (1) which presents a cylindrical socket (2) engaged by the male connector (3) of an electrical component, e.g. a lamp (4) or a temperature sensor (5). A number of teeth (9) provided on the exterior surface of the socket rest on the refrigerator wall thus fixing the socket against the wall. An elastic collar (10) around the socket prevents expansion of the insulating material inside the refrigerator food compartment. Two circular recesses (11,12) present inside the socket receive the male connector which co-operates with female contacts (16) housed inside one of the recesses (12). The contacts are connected to electrical conductors (20). A rubber disc (40) is placed on the bottom of the circular recess (12) to protect against humidity.
