The call-back method displays the telephone number of the caller,during playback of a recorded message, after operation of a message playback button of the answering machine. The method then detects the subsequent operation of an automatic re-selection button and establishes a call-back connection when the telephone handpiece is lifted. Preferably the call-back procedure is controlled via a central processing unit detecting the operation of the message playback and re-selection buttons, for automatic selection of the call connection upon detection of the handpiece being lifted. |
