<p>In a process for making a heat-recoverable article by embedding a fabric (1), mesh or the like made of strands of polymeric material extending in one direction and strands of essentially non-deformable material extending transversely thereto in a matrix (2) of polymeric material, a fabric, mesh or the like of filaments (3) of a thermoplastic extending in the intended direction of stretching or shrinking, and filaments (4) of an essentially non-deformable material extending transversely thereto is embedded in a polymer matrix.
