The lock cylinder core is in a housing (2) and has openings (4) that are matched by the key. A supporting element (8) is in the housing for the ends of those openings resting on a stop surface of the housing. The element is preloaded in a final position. It is made from sheet steel, forming a closed frame. A section of a long side (26) of the supporting element is formed into a spring (25). It has transom-like extensions that are connected to one side. It is longer than the distance from the first to the last opening plus the way of the cylinder movement.
