Surgical clamp and support system for wall of body cavity

The system uses restraining parts (1) which are in the shape of a button. The parts are mounted on the ends of needles which are in turn attached to threads. The threads (3) are suspended from a support frame. The needles are passed through the wall (5) of the body cavity. The restraining parts have a central hole (9) into which the needle is inserted. When the needle is inserted in the part, edges (14) on the part lock behind a shoulder on the needle so that the part is kept in position when pull is exerted on the thread. A sleeve can be mounted on the end of the thread where it engages with the body wall.
