Electrohydraulic braking system for road vehicle

The braking system has a brake pressure setting element (16,..19), controlled by an electric motor (34), associated with each wheel brake (11,...14), for matching the actual vehicle braking to the required braking indicated by an electronic or electromechanical braking source, operated by the vehicle driver. Each braking pressure setting element has a piston pump (36) with at least one piston reciprocated in a fixed relationship to the pump drive element rotated by the electric motor, with regulation of the feed quantity for each piston stroke in opposition to the pressure. The brake fluid reception space (38,38') of each wheel brake is blocked when the vehicle is at a standstill by an electrically- operated valve device (42,42').
