Mounting frame for roof light

The roof light is attached to the building via a shaped frame incorporating a support frame (2) to which are attached the fittings (16,17) which secure the glass panes (4). A metal frame (14) inside the structure provides mechanical support for a heavy glass eg. a heat resistant glass. The support frame for the glass is surrounded by a thermal insulating flange (30) covered with a weather proofing cladding (26). The fitting can be fitted to horizontal supports or to vertical supports with suitable shaped mountings. The insulating layer is separated from the metal support frame by foil insert layers. Condensation inside the structure is removed by a drainage duct through the weather proof cladding.
