<p>The present invention is broadly directed to probe complexes comprising a platform molecule containing multiple electrochemiluminescent labels and an oligonucleotide probe specific to a target nucleotide sequence of an analyte of interest. Processes for performing assays using these complexes and for making these complexes are also covered by the invention. A specific embodiment of the present invention comprises biotinylated bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a platform molecule; derivative of ruthenium (II) tris(2,2'-bipyridine) as the electrochemiluminescent labels; and an oligonucleotide probe attached to the biotinylated BSA with the multiple electrochemiluminescent labels.</p> |
