The invention concerns a multi-compact sensor with a mounting designed to hold various types of exchangeable sensors, holders and attachments and intended for installation in existing and/or new processing machines, the sensor also having a plate which includes an evaluation circuit and connector elements for the sensors, plus, depending on the intended application and the articles being checked, an exchangeable cover. The bringing together of a multiplicity of individual components, the proposed exchangeability of widely differing sensors, the wide range of applications and the ability to handle various sensors and data-processing electronics in a compact unit justify the description multi-compact sensor for the device proposed.
