The invention concerns a device for checking sheet articles with sensors comprising one or more components and mounted as separate units on one side or both sides of the conveyer path on the front face of a support plate. A first set of securing means are used to secure the sensors; these securing means can be operated from the rear of the support plate and once released allow the sensor to be removed. In order to open a gap between at least one component of a sensor and the conveyer path, the said component is provided with a second set of securing means which can be operated from the front of the support plate and when released allow the component only to move relative to the conveyer system; removal of the sensor when the second set of securing means is released is not possible.
