Appts. for sublimation of desublimed ash from fusion power plant consists of a microwave antenna and a penal acting as desublimation surface within a vacuum, the novelty being that the panel has a multilayer structure comprising: (a) a pref. metallic, electrically conductive base plate of thickness at least a multiple of the penetration depth; (b) a dielectric, non-conductive layer of thickness ddopt (in poor approximation to a whole number multiple of the half-wavelength of this medium Zd) applied onto the base plate; and (c) a microwave absorbent layer of the medium Zv of thickness dvopt which is small compared with the penetration depth. Also claimed is an antenna for irradiating the panel with microwaves.
