Skid protection for road vehicle

The procedure for preventing the skidding of vehicle tyres on wet, icy or slippery road surfaces has a coolant, like liquid nitrogen of carbon dioxide, sprayed onto the surface to give temporary freezing of the wheels to the surface. The coolant may be a mixture of the above with air. Water may also be sprayed. To reduce the formation of condensation, warm air is blown onto the surface. There is a tank for the coolant connected by a pipe to spray nozzles in front of, beside and behind the wheels. The nozzles are remotely controlled in their position relative to the wheels. The spraying is triggered by signals from the ABS system.
