<p>A method for fabricating a composite structure such as an aircraft radome (20) includes preparing seamless female support mold (76)/caul plate (78) tooling, and seamless male support mold (114)/vacuum bag (124) tooling. An uncured composite structure is collated on the external surface of the male support mold (114)/vacuum bag (124) tooling, and then transferred to the female support mold (76)/caul plate (78) tooling for curing. The female support mold (76)/caul plate (78) tooling defines the outer surface of the final composite structure (132), permitting the outer surface to be smooth and of an aerodynamic shape.</p> |
