Lock for flap in vehicle, i.e. glove compartment flap

A bar (11) is attached to the opening (13) that is closed by the flap. The bar turns a rotating catch (20) positioned in a casing (12) attached to the flap (10). The catch is mounted to a hinged plate (30) allowing rotation (21) and swivelling (31). The catch is loaded by a spring (42) that also works on the plate moving it away from the entry opening (15) for the bar. The catch has a section (26) with a shoulder (27). When the lock is open the segment rests on a support (16). The catch is then positioned near the entry opening. When the lock is shut the shoulder of the catch is caught behind a stop (17) of the support and held in its locked position.
