Monitoring lamps supplied in parallel

To monitor lamps fed in parallel, each one has its own monitor circuit feeding an alarm signal into the circuit if failure occurs. This occurs without the load having to be switched out. Each alarm identifies its own lamp (1 to 11) and the receiver (6) connected to the circuit (3,4) can discriminate between the alarm signals. The receiver is connected across a measuring resistance (5) in one of the power leads. Each alarm gives out a series of pulse signals at different mark-space ratios or gives out a signal that is modulated differently for different lamps. In the receiver, overlapping signals are not evaluated. For evaluated signals, a check is made with the next evaluation before a failure is confirmed.
