A double-diaphragm gauge protector (10) comprises a diaphragm housing (12) formed from an upper housing body (14), a lower housing body (18), and a central housing body (16). A first diaphragm (20) is disposed within the upper housing body (12) forming an upper chamber (29) and a liquid pressure-transfer medium (28) is disposed within. The first diaphragm (20) includes a transfer pad (52) that projects outwardly away from a bottom surface (54) toward the lower housing body (18). A second diaphragm (22) is disposed within the lower housing body (18) forming a lower chamber (31). The second diaphragm (22) also includes a transfer pad (92) that projects outwardly away from top surface (94) of the second diaphragm (22). The transfer pads (52, 92) of the diaphragms are positioned one on top of the other. A freely-floating spacer (24) is interposed between the bottom and top surfaces of the diaphragms. The transfer pads (52, 92) of the diaphragms are disposed within a central opening (103) in the spacer (24).
