Video camera device for monitoring traffic at traffic lights controlled road junctions

The device is used at traffic light controlled road junctions (10) and includes an interface (11) to the traffic light controller (12) which ensures that the video camera (1,2,3) is only operational when the lights are red. At least two directions of a road junction can be monitored simultaneously using a reflector (16) to reflect the lights, esp. the red one, to the camera which is monitoring traffic crossing the stop line. Instead of the reflector, an additional light (19) which is illuminated simultaneously with the red light (17) can be used.
