The conveyor cylinder (2) picks up the pieces of reference materials (1) and conveys them past the glue applicator roller (3). A suction device (6-9,7a) produces a vacuum in the V-shaped gap between the piece of reference material on the conveyor cylinder and the glue applicator roller. A scraper (6) is connected to the glue applicator roller. A suction nozzle (7) grips over the scraper to seal it with a top nozzle part (7a) between the conveyor cylinder and scraper with a small gap (a) forming a suction opening from the glue applicator roller. The top nozzle part forms a contact surface for the piece of reference material.
