Solar energy collector for heating purposes

The modular collector consists of a deep-drawn plastics bowl with intake and outlet sockets for air or water. A radiation-reflecting heat protection foil, consisting of aluminium with a glass silk coating, is fastened to the base of the bowl. Air guide rails fastened to the foil simultaneously act as distance pieces for an infrared absorber foil above it. The absorber foil is a black-coated metal esp. copper foil, pref. oxide-of-metal-paint coated or electrolytically oxidised, with a thickness of 0.015 to 0.1 mm. The foil is located at a distance of 2-3 cm to the reflective foil below, and an upper cover plate. This consists of a double-layer polycarbonate, and is fastened to the projecting edge of the collector bowl, via a seal.
