HV load switch with axially displaced contact tip

The switch has a movable contact tip or stud (1), displaced axially via a switch rod attached to a pivoted drive lever. A linear guide (16,17) is provided for the end of the switch rod carrying the movable contact piece, provided by a bolt (16) perpendicular to the pivot plane of a linkage between the front and rear sections of the switch rod, fitting through an axial slit (17) in the switch rod. Pref. the pivot plane of the linkage coincides with the pivot plane of the drive lever at the rear end of the switch rod. The latter may be provided by a hollow tube with the axial slit acting as an exit for the arc extinction gases.
