Three flexible ties (2-4) are respectively fixed at one end (5-7) to a rod (8) of required length and are fixed at the far ends (10) to a wall, window in the room or cupboard etc. The other ties (2,4) are fixed at their other ends (9) to another wall or opening of the room or cupboard as appropriate. The end (6) of the first tie (3) is fixed to the rod (8) in the opposite rotation sense to those of the other two ties (2,4). One tie is fixed so as to close and/or divide by its operation. Preferably those ties which divide or close should be made of fabric (12) as against the other two ties which come in belt form and only serve to secure the device to the wall or frame concerned.
