Prodn. of solid microparticles (I) comprises producing drops with a drop generator and producing (I) by liquid-solid phase exchange in a gas atmos. Pref. phase exchange comprises polymerisation of the liquid drops or cooling of hot liquid drops. Also claimed is an appts. to produce solid, extremely monodisperse (I) continuously. Pref. the generator head can be heated and the drops produced from substances that are solid at room temp.
