Arrangement for fastening concrete sleeper to concrete or asphalt bed plate

Concrete sleeper (10) is fastened to a concrete or asphalt bed plate (4) by an arrangement of a through hole (20) in the sleeper in alignment with a blind hole (40) in the bed plate and a plastic sleeve (22) in the sleeper hole. A steel bolt (30) is passed through the sleeve into the blind hole and a layer (42) of curable material is placed in the blind hole, between the steel bolt and the bed plate. The curable material may be a grout or an epoxy resin and the sleeve may be retained in place by epoxy resin adhesive. Also claimed is a procedure for forming the arrangement by drilling the holes, filling the blind hole with curable material, bonding the sleeve to the through hole and inserting the steel bolt.
