A video signal transmitter in which video data generated by means of an image pickup device is stored in a video data storing device, and the video data are edited by means of an editing device. Ancillary information is added when video data are generated, and extracted and used as keywords of a database in the video data storing device to edit video data. Hence, construction of a database and edition of video data are further facilitated and simplified.
