The invention relates to new cosmetic compositions for topical use, particularly for the skin and/or hair photoprotection characterized in that they comprise, in a cosmetically acceptable support, particularly of the type oil-in-water, (i) benzene 1-4-di(3-methylidene-10-camphosulfonic) acid, optionally in a partially or totally neutralised form, as a first filter, and (ii) as second filter, an appropriately selected benzotriazol silicone. Due to a synergy effect between said first and second filters, said compositions have improved solar protection factors. Application to the skin and hair protection against the effects of ultraviolet radiation.
