Air treatment system for vehicle interior with at least two active C filter units

Air entering the interior of a vehicle is passed through at least two active C filter units (11, 12), one of which is electrically heatable and is desorbed by an exhaust air stream while the incoming air is treated in the other filter unit. Filter units include metallic supports coated with active C, around which the air flows. Pref. the supports are in the form of electric resistance heaters (30) and heating elements (31) are provided between adjacent supports. Alternatively, the filter units may comprise large area, electrically conductive supports of active C.
