An optical pickup device includes two objective lenses (La, Lb) having numerical apertures different from each other, a lens holder (13) for holding these objective lenses in common, a cylinder (16) fixed to the lens holder, and four tracking coil pairs (TRa1 to TRa4, TRb1 to TRb4) affixed onto a cylindrical surface of the cylinder. Two tracking coil pairs (TRa1 to TRa4) are displaced from the remaining two tracking coil pairs (TRb1 to TRb4) by a predetermined angle. When one objective lens (La) is used, two tracking coil pairs (TRa1 to TRa4) corresponding to the objective lens are used for tracking control of the objective lens.
