[Also in Division A4] In a folding table stage or platform the inner ends of top sections 1, 2 are pivotally. linked to spaced pairs of inner supporting legs 10, 11 for movement between a horizontal in-use position and a vertical, folded position. In horizontal position the inner ends of the sections lie close together and rest on the upper ends of the legs 10, 11, hinged legs 15, 16 being provided to support the outer ends of the sections. The pivotal linkage consists of links 20, 21 connected by pivot bolts 23, 24 to the arms of a bifurcated bracket 22 secured to a top section, and connected by pivot bolts 25, 26 to spaced parallel cross rails 12, the top section when raised pivoting on the axes defined by the bolts 23 which move along the line 27, and the opposing edges of the top section moving apart along lines 29 so that folding can take place. Control arms 30, 31 for the hinged legs 15, 16 are pivoted thereto and to the legs 10, 11, and links 42, 45 secured by brackets 40 to the top sections are pivoted at their lower ends to bars 36, 37 which have tubular ends sliding on the legs 10, 11 and castor wheels 39 which, on raising the top sections, are lowered to engage the floor simultaneously with raising of the legs 10, 11. |
