An externally expandable earless clamp structure has a hook-like member (25) in the outer band portion (20a) adapted to engage in a hook-receiving aperture (29) in the end area of the inner band portion (20b) to connect the overlapping band portions. A first inwardly pressed-out tool-engaging embossment (28) in the inner band portion (20b) is adapted to cooperate with a second inwardly pressed-out tool-engaging embossment (24) in the outer band portion (20a) to permit tightening of the clap structure by expansion thereof. An inwardly pressed-out tab-like member (23) in the outer band portion (20a) extending in the longitudinal direction is adapted to engage in a narrow slot (26) in the inner band portion (20b).
